Brad Engelsman Design Architecture (BEDA) is a creative practice and architecture studio based in New York City. Research-based and rigorous, BEDA’s portfolio spans residential, commercial, and cultural projects that draw on and communicate within their unique context to create work that’s timeless and enduring. BEDA believes in deep collaboration between clients and all members of the design team to ensure that each project is inventive and adaptable to the needs of the community it serves. The studio has been recognized internationally through design awards, publications, and exhibitions.
Brad Engelsman is a licensed architect whose career weaves together disciplinary expertise and speculative design with a strong focus on research and education. Prior to founding BEDA, Engelsman was a project manager and senior designer at Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, Dror, and HWKN in New York City. He received his graduate degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation receiving the Honor Award for Design Excellence with distinction and a Lucille Smyser Lowenfish Memorial Prize. Engelsman has served as full-time faculty at Montana State University, and the New York Institute of Technology where he coordinates third-year design studios. He is a Registered Architect and member of the American Institute of Architects.
