Open Sinus
COMMERCIAL #2301 2025
This 2,400-square-foot facility serves as the inaugural location for Open Sinus. Responding to the client’s mandate to subvert a traditional "clinical" aesthetic, the project challenges the sterile, utilitarian conventions of medical interior design, pivoting instead toward a hospitality-driven “living room” typology.
Beyond the stylistic shift, the design addresses the space’s limited natural light through a strategic 50/50 programmatic split. The spacious, public-facing lounge and refreshment areas are positioned directly adjacent to the northeast glazing to maximize daylight penetration. Conversely, the six private exam rooms and administrative offices are organized within the southern, light-controlled half of the floor plate, where patient privacy and calibrated artificial illumination are paramount. This distribution required the clinical, monetized zones to be expertly laid out to prioritize a more expansive and comfortable patient environment.

Operating within a constrained budget, the design maintains an open, airy flow by avoiding costly structural interventions or opaque partitions. Instead, spatial delineation is achieved through a sophisticated color-blocking system. This chromatic organization extends from wall treatments to furniture, creating intuitive "zones" that serve as passive wayfinding tools without sacrificing visual continuity. The result is a high-impact, cost-effective project that demonstrates how color and strategic organization can redefine the modern healthcare environment.
